The Cast Iron Fountain - Outside the Court House, Great George Street, Savanna-la-mar

The fountain was donated to the town in 1887 by a planter by the name of E. J. Sadler. The fountain is constructed from cast iron and is flanked by eight columns connected by arches, giving the fountain an octagonal frame. Above each of the arches is a carving of a pelican and on the north, south east and west arches the rather enigmatic phrase "keep the pavement dry".
