Roy Felix has been selling "Serious Chicken" in Negril since 1982. Roy started off by selling chicken at a roadside stall. Roy's trademark "Serious Chicken" dish of grilled marinated chicken served with a special sauce became so popular that, in the summer of 1996, he moved from his stall on Somerset Road and set up his own "Serious Chicken" restaurant.
In addition to the famous chicken dish, Roy also serves fish, lobster, conch and vegetables.
Roy has also turned his hand to art and displays his sculptures, carvings and hand-painted t-shirts in the restaurant.
Roy is easy to spot in the restaurant as he dresses head-to-toe in traditional African garments. He told us that these are the clothes he feels comfortable in and that he wears them all the time, whether he's at home or in the restaurant.
