St. Thomas Parish is not famous for its beaches. The rugged dark sand beaches of the south-east coast do not attract as many tourists as the white sand picture postcard beaches of places like Negril and Montego Bay.

Lyssons beach is one of St Thomas's better beaches and is public. If you're looking for a tranquil, authentically Jamaican beach experience then Lyssons beach may be just what you are looking for.

Lyssons beach is signposted from the main south coast road in St Thomas, it is slightly east of Morant Bay. Two hotels - Golden Shore Beach Hotel and Goldfinger - are nearby the beach.
