Noel Coward’s former home, Firefly, is now open to the public. For a modest fee you can take a guided tour around Firefly, Noel Cowards retreat in the hills of Galina. The views from Firefly are truly breathtaking, with a sea view that extends all the way to Port Antonio on a clear day. It is even rumoured that "Room with a view" was written about one of the rooms in Firefly. Noel Coward was a well travelled man but made his home in Jamaica. His remains are buried on the grounds of Firefly, underneath a humble marble plaque.
Where to stay

On the old road between Port Maria and Ocho Rios (at Galina) - the villa is not visible from the new main road, however, there is a small sign pointing to Blue Harbour. Keep your eyes peeled for it as you pass the large Hotel Casa Maria.

When he was entertaining, Noel Coward did not allow his guests to stay at Firefly. For the purposes of entertaining, he also kept "Blue Harbour", his guesthouse by the sea. What was once the guest-house of Coward's elite circle of friends is now open to the public. For a very low cost, the public can now sleep in villas once frequented by the likes of Winston Churchill and Errol Flynn.
