National Heroes Monument - Sam Sharpe Square (Downtown Montego Bay)

Just outside of the Cage on Sam Sharpe Square is the Sam Sharpe Monument. The monument depicts two of Jamaica's national heroes, Sam Sharpe and Paul Bogle preaching to three seated slaves. The bronze statues were made by Jamaican sculptor, Kay Sullivan and cast in Jamaica. The statues were unveiled on 16 October 1983 by Edward Seaga, the prime minister of Jamaica at the time.
