Jamrock is run by Carvin and Andrew.
Carvin runs the musical side of Jamrock, taking reglar trips down to Kingston to rummage around the record stores to dig out rare pieces of vinyl. The store keeps an impressive collection of vinyl, with original recordings from the Studio One, Tuff Gong, Beverley, Greensleaves and Coxone record labels. Jamrock has many regular clients, with visitors from Japan and the USA frequently flying in to buy out the entire stock! If you are after a particular piece of vinyl, phone ahead and Carvin will try to find it for you. Carvin grew up in the Trench Town district of Kingston and used to work in the music industry as an engineer.
Andrew takes care of the carving side of the business, designing carvings for craftsmen to carve. He then paints them before selling them in the store.
Jamrock supports local poets from Montego Bay and sells wall hangings featuring words of wisdom from street poets they meet in downtown Montego Bay.
A book exchange is run from the store where locals and tourists can exchange books they have finished reading.
