Invercauld Great House, Black River   Invercauld Great House, Black River

Invercauld Great House - 66 Main Street, Black River
Tel:- 965-2750

The Invercauld (formerly called Invercall) great house was built by Patrick Leyden in 1894. Like Waterloo guest house, most of the construction material was pre-fabricated and imported, most probably from England. The late Georgian structure echoes the wealth of Black River's golden age, with gabled roofs, intricate fretwork, bay windows and window coolers.

Inverclaud is now a boutique guest house. The rooms have antique furnishings and outside there are gardens and a large pool.
