The Port Antonio Railway Station was built in 1896. The station was the terminal stop on the line which began at Bog Walk. This line was an important route for carrying fruits grown at Bog Walk to the harbour at Port Antonio.
Architecturally, the railway station was constructed in a similar style to most other railway stations in Jamaica. The station was purchased recently and is awaiting restoration. The building currently houses the Portland Art Gallery and a florist.
