Columbus Foot Beach

Columbus Foot Beach (also known as Fisherman's Beach) is the most westerly beach in Ocho Rios. The main draw of Columbus Foot Beach is that it is an authentic Jamaican fishing beach, lined with wooden shacks and lean-to structures serving fresh-from-the-ocean seafood dishes in an authentic, rustic environment.
There is a wide choice of atmospheric eateries from which to enjoy fresh fish, lobster, shrimp and conch whilst watching the colourful fishing boats bringing in the day's catch. Some cook shops also serve meat dishes such as jerk chicken.
Whilst Columbus Foot Beach offers the best range of authentic seafood in Ocho Rios, it is a "working" fishing beach and is not really suitable for swimming or sunbathing. More suitable beached for bathing are Turtle Beach, Mahogany Beach or the nearby Island Village Beach.
The entrance to Columbus Foot Beach is immediately to the west of Island Village (just turn right out of the exit and walk for a minute or two. The beach is entered through a set of concrete steps down from the pavement.)
